The Tea

Hi! I’m Gipsi Jess and yes I’m a Gemini, shocker…Now that the simplicity of my name is out of the way we can get into why I started my biz. Honestly I just started making stuff at home because I got stifled and I feel like many can relate. I decided that I needed a hobby and wanted to do more with my evenings other than happy hour and/or binge watch tv. I’m a creative person who dated other creatives for years and I always felt that their talent surpassed mine so I stopped somewhere along the way. I spent two decades with no creative outlet which is so sad. Even if one person reading this “about me” section takes away anything from my writing I hope it’s never dull your shine.

During covid I worked a lot which was the flip side compared to everyone else. I was a special needs educator who started conducting in-home curriculums with children who were non-verbal and blended that with part time nanny duties due to the pandemic. My twelve hour days took its toll on me and I decided I was done teaching for awhile. I was sick all the time suffering from heart palpitations, fatigue disorder, insomnia, fibromyalgia and migraines. I came across some brand ambassador work and started doing events. I loved that it gave me an open schedule which helped me be able to visit specialists to figure out my health problems and start integrating daily yoga and gym sessions. I realized that I no longer wanted to work for other people (teaching) and I didn’t want to do events anymore unless they were for myself. The only way I was going to live a happy healthy life was to own my own business.

I looked at so many things to do outside of vending and making handmade pieces but none of it seemed to fulfill a passion or missing piece I kept feeling in my soul. This lead, as I aforementioned, me to make things at home. January 2023 I started vending and really honing in on what I was going to be making. I’m a newb so I am still working events for companies but I am slowly transitioning out as sales in-person and online increase due to people like you.

I put it all together and decided I could be creative, make things and also sell them. Bippity Boppity Boo Gemini Gipsi!
